My research project started somewhat slower. Having to work alone within the research field was something difficult for me also because research was one of my weaker sides, but with good coaching and a lot of work I was able to deliver above my own expectations. Within this research project I focused on digitally “ageing” products, specifically app icons. During a period of three weeks users app icons would wear down until they would disappear completely. The wear was based on the use. The goal was to create a stronger bond between users and their phone by giving them a form of expertise. No significant change in product relation could be measured, but this new field of research shows promise and therefore I also want to continue within this field.
